
Rebecca Carlson has always had a passion for Christian education.
She went to private Christian schools for the majority of her
education. Rebecca attended and graduated in May 2004 from Crosswalk
Christian High School in southwest Kansas. She then went on to
further her education at Wayland Baptist University in Plainview,
Texas. Rebecca graduated from Wayland Baptist University in May
2008 with the degree of Bachelor of Science in Interdisciplinary
Studies (B.S.I.S) where she majored in Elementary Education. As
well as having many hands on experiences working with children
in both public and private school settings, Rebecca had the opportunity
to student teach in a 3rd grade class at Des Moines Christian
School. She has taught Sunday School and VBS for years both in
her home church and last year at Heartland Baptist Church.
Currently, Rebecca and her husband reside in Ames, Iowa where
her husband is pursuing a graduate degree in chemistry at Iowa
State University. Rebecca will be teaching 4th - 6th grades at
Maranatha Christian Academy starting this fall and will also serve
as assistant girls basketball coach. Rebecca played varsity basketball
for six years at Crosswalk Christian Academy. She is looking forward
to a great year!
